Some more glass
Posted By: roscot, 03-08-2008, 08:38 AM

Sorry, not what you think, no new Pentax glass. These are not as interesting as Roentarre's "Hot Girl" but I would appreciate some feedback. Which do you prefer. The first is straight processing, the second is the same shot converted to b&w, and a rose tint added. (I'm still waiting on my Gels and holders).

Thanks for looking.

I think I like the second one better, the reflections/highlights seem to stand out more.

Hey Alan,

I couldn't quite put my finger on why these didn't look 'right' to me yesterday. Now I think I know - there is something about the black point in these that seem unnatural. Perhaps because it is blacker on three sides than it is on the left?

Hi Sean,
You have a good eye my friend. I'm not sure what lighting I used, as I was trying different set ups. Although I like the shot, something did bug me, but I could not put my finger on it. I think you found the reason for me.

I shot this one last night. I used 1 light from above with a 30 degree grid, and 1 off to the right through a large soft box at very low power, just enough to provide a bit of reflectance in the glass. I like the way the light pools around the glasses. What do you think?
