Rainlillies!
Posted By: Bramela, 03-08-2008, 12:14 PM

Rainlillies I took and added a bit of PP for effect.
The weather and light were abyssmal.
1 : was focused on centre with a centre focus filter added.

2 : I decided to PP and added Watercolour efffect, for something a bit different.
Added frame etc to add to arty effect.

Things you do on a rainy day with time on your hands, I suppose!

Beautiful flowers, but I think that your PP on the 2nd photo is just a little too bright.

Very nice. I tend to agree with Matthew on the brightness. I think a simple crop of the first into the composition of the second would be the ticket.

I like #2 and don't find it too bright. I would crop some from the sides, though. You have IMHO too much empty space to the left and right of the flowers.

I really like what you did to the second picture.. I like the first one better escept for the flower in front that is out of focus... I think it takes away from the picture...

Nice stuff Bruce. I like the filter effect and the second looks pretty good although I agree on the brightness.

Hey thanks for all the thoughts guys (and gals).
I have really left myself with some critical assessing to do by the sound of it.
I hadnt thought of the brightness of 2 too much, but it is brought to my attention, I do notice it .

And Kim, I realised about the closer flower. I had focussed entirely on the centre flower, of course, and thought to keep the others as sort of backround subjects. It is a bit distracting, isn't it.

Thanks all, much appreciate the time and thought.
