Yesterday was rather nice, clear and sunny and not too hot so I went to the local animal sanctuary. Just in time for the bear feeding.

The keeper lures the bear into a pen, closes the door between pen and enclosure, enters enclosure and hides food for the bear to find, leaves enclosure and opens door between pen and enclosure. The 'neighbors' have caught on that for a few moments neither keeper nor bear is guarding the goodies.

The antelope squirrel hoovers up seeds and small items like grapes and strawberries.

The ground squirrel swings for the fences.

Yeah, it's a whole ear of corn he's swiping.

Unfortunately, there is a large basin big enough for the bear to have a bath in and the ear of corn fell in. Did you see the Ice Age movies? The critter who keeps losing it's acorn? Same thing here.

That squirrel was frantic trying to get that corn out of the basin before the bear arrived. He failed. The bear got the corn.

Wonderful series. Your bear shot is very emotional... they are all evocative. Thanks for sharing.

Wow, that bears awfully close, I even sat back a bit from the monitor when he appeared.

Great shot and I like the tale that goes along with the others.
