There is a very interesting story behind those eyes.

Nice capture. He must have seen some haunting things, looking at that expression and the look in his eyes....

He's a friend. Lots of things on his mind. Managed to capture a moment of reflection. I've been studying lots and lots of photographs that capture emotion more than just an image. I am learning new things.

He's actually a pretty funny guy. And smart too.

Apparently I look like that on occasion, my good lady calls it my "gone to lunch" look.

It's a cracking capture, print large and let him have a copy, I'm sure he would be pleased with that.

The picture captures perfectly the scenario in the link. Wonderful shot! I agree that he should receive a large print.

Thanks for the kind words!

I am trying to push my photography to where I capture moments, emotions, personalities, etc rather than just an 'image'. I want a 'story' in there and more of a meaning.

This was attempt #1. I haven't had much chance to take photos a lot lately. Everything is in turmoil. But when I do take them I try to focus on specific elements I want express or improve upon...

If he wants a copy I will most def give him one.

This by the way was shot wide open with a DA 40mm. It is not cropped in any way. How it is is how it was composed. I had to fix some of the white balance in LR though. No flash or lighting... just as is. Hanging out...

I am still a newbie. I have yet to actually print an image.

I have other articles about this guy if you are interested.

This is an excellent portrait. I would make it black and white.

My first ever shot at black and white in Lightroom. I will need some coaching here

I am really trying to work with this image to learn from more than anything, but if you read the article he's a relatively interesting subject with a story. I have quite a few other people I can shoot too but I am trying to develop my photography skill in not only the capture of the 'emotion' as I stated above, but also as the best way to present and 'develop' the image.

I might work on one image developing it 20 times, but those 20 times will teach me something about the whys and whats...and the skills are transferable to other images too That "20 times of trial and error" is what I would like to do here rather than bouncing image to image...

I guess you could say I am trying to 'train my eye' so any kind of feed back is great. It might even be worth it to let this be the post processing challenge of the week and see what other people can come up with. For now this is my guinea pig picture.
