That's a Nikon shooter for ya. More into the gadgets than the images. JK! Actually these rifle grips were fairly popular before IS, AS, VR and the like. I am surprised to see one so modern looking. Seems like going to decaf would be just as effective.

Is that a camera or a hand-held rocket launcher?

Photosnipers are awesome!

KMZ pioneered these methods of shooting, with their line of Zenit cameras. Just do a search on fotosnaiper

Yes, I had a Zenit Photosniper back in the 70s/early 80s. (Cheaper than the Bush Hawk in the photo and as it was built as a unit it was more compact/streamlined). Never really got into it much at the time, mainly because I wanted to photograph wildlife, especially birds and 300mm on a 35mm just couldn't fill the frame unless you could get very close and I didn't have the time/patience for that back then. It could deliver some sharp images though. I felt it was pretty well designed. It had a special dial for focusing which it was easy to adjust while supporting the lens. I have another tele lens holder I bought in the 80s which I haven't used much. Now I'm trying to get into bird photography seriously I'm going to see if I can replace its mechanical cable release and give it a go with my K10D.

Here's a photo.

It's a shoulder stock unit sold by Bush Hawk co. On dpreview there's a guy that goes by The Hotel that has posted some really spectacular photos take with a K10D and the Sigma Bigma lens (50-500). He now also has one rigged up with a canon 1dmark3 and a 500mm f4.0 lens. He does alot of wild life with the 2 rigs. Should be great combined with Pentaxes in body stabilazition.

Looks like a nice toy but I can just imagine what some overzealous ignorant cop or "homeland security" moron would do if if saw someone with that thing...

Or worse, Kim - they might shoot back, but not with a camera!

Thanks guys/gals for all your input. I figured someone would have seen and/or used one of these babies. I would've chatted him up a bit, but chasing around my two boys prevented me from doing so. Oh, for the record, I did a little shooting of my own. Here's a look at some of what I got...

Nice captures of the Cardinals and the Nuthatch Rob!

Which lens are you using for those shots? The out of focus areas look a bit harsh on the shot with the male cardinal; maybe it's just my monitor.
