A one shot keeper.I was real lucky.
Lens: 18-250 Pentax Camera: K5 Photo Location: Saugus Ma. ISO: 200 Shutter Speed: 1/125s Aperture: F9.5

My feathered friend was coming to the feeder every 10 minutes today.I suspect that he feeds and then feeds the Mrs. at the nest.I haven't seen her yet.I tried to get some background color today.Usually my backgrounds are very dark because I have to use the flash since my primary feeder is in the shade on the East side of the house.I did put another feeder on the sunny side and hopefully it will get used in the upcoming days and I will be able to take shots without the Vivitar flash.Today I put on the 18-250 Pentax and used the flash at the lowest setting.I was standing 2-3 ft from the feeder and he showed up and I got one shot. The last shot is in the K5's posterization mode. All my h-bird shots are starting to look all the same so maybe with the other feeder in the sun they will look more natural.--charliezap

The feeder looks over-saturated.

The flash at lowest setting Bob is around 1/30,000 sec duration and it does a good job of bringing out the colors on the little guy.--charliezap

Vivid colors Charlie. You are getting the hang of hummer photography.

The feeder came out over saturated in the K5's posterization mode.It is a bright red feeder and the flash brought out the colors on that but it did nicely on the hummer.--charliezap

Luck comes to the well-prepared, Capn. Great shot - you're the hummingbird expert, for sure.
