The annual airshow at Chino CA,

The free shuttle takes you past the Yanks museum boneyard.

The military is not flying at airshows this year.

D-Day Doll flew in the Normandy invasion.

Pacific Princess flew in movies.

This C-47 was once in the Israeli airforce. Only the markings to the left of the girl are from those days. It has been restored to its original scheme.

A reconnaissance B-25.

This is based at Lyon museum at John Wayne airport in Orange County.

An early P-40.

Reno racer, Argonaut.

P-26 Peashooter.

P-38.

Five of the seven flyable P-38s were here.

Spitfire and P-39 Airacobra.

Lots of Mustangs.

Heavy metal. The P-47 Thunderbolt, or "Jug", was the largest single-seat fighter of WWII.

Firing up Wee Willy.

A P-40C.

Constellation.

N9-M flying wing, a 1/3-scale test model.

I think these are RV-4's.

Silver Wings wing walking team.

A Zlin.

F4-U Corsairs.

An Aichi D3A Val replica, made from a BT-13 Valiant.

Bearcat.

The Green Monster #5 from the 60's.

Very cool shots Kyle. Thanks for getting me inside the gates.
The T-6 team shooter must have strong arms.

Way cool thread, I enjoyed the tour, thanks Kyle. Kyle, why didn't the military fly this year?

A great set of images, I feel I've been to the show and I've never left the house.

I really enjoy the vintage artwork on the WW2 planes, they have almost a soft image feel about them in the way they were painted.

Perhaps Canon or Nikon paintbrushes were used.

Nice series Kyle. It's been so long since I have been to an air show, I am going to have to look for one this year.

I got a book from Amazon - Vintage Aicraft Nose Art. Nice, but all B/W, though :-(

N80FR... That blessed thing was the biggest pain in the ass for me to identify when I saw it there last year. Best example of a P-40C I've ever seen though. Thanks for sharing the picture showing the registration number.

That shot of the Canadian Vickers PBV-1A Catalina is a pretty good one. It has just arrived in North America after complete restoration at Lanseria, South Africa - my old stomping grounds.

Also great to see the Peashooter flying.

Any shots of the P-38 formo?
