North Rim Grand Canyon
Lens: Pentax DA-L 55-300 Camera: K-01 Photo Location: North Rim ISO: 400 Shutter Speed: 1/350s Aperture: F11

We had a great time at the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. At the North Rim it is easy to find quiet and solitude at many of the viewpoints. One photo was shot with the Sigma 10-20 F4-5.6. I saw one other Pentax during our two days there, a white K-x with the white 18-55.

They're both nice, but that first is quite spectacular.
Thanks for sharing.

Great shots. The Canyon really gets a grab on any photographer. I visited there (south rim only) back in film days when I had to watch my shutter finger. Stayed a night at Cameron Trading Post in winter. It was cold, but some great memories.

Thanks you all for the comments. The second photo was taken about an hour and a half before sunset at Point Imperial. My wife and I were amazed at the great light and the views from there and we had it all to ourselves for quite a while. There are a few river views on the North Rim. This is the one I liked the best due to the detail in the rock layers and the white water in the river. That 55-300 did a great job.

Really like the colours on the first image and the apparent hugeness of the vista, well done.

although i really appreciate the first image, i think i prefer the second as it provides the viewer with a bit more context to absorb the sheer scale of the canyon. you're so lucky to have this amazing place reasonably available!

A statement so true. We collect National Parks and try to visit as many as we can. We have about 40 on our top 10 list. We spent a week at the North Rim and couldn't get over the difference between it and hectic pace of the South Rim. Thanks for posting these two wonderful shots. Stunning vistas.
