Lens: smc PENTAX-FA Macro 100mm F2.8 Camera: K-5 Photo Location: Moreton Queensland ISO: 200 Shutter Speed: 1s Aperture: F19

Just bought a light tent from our local OfficeWorks store and was having a try out. White balance is a bit critical till I looked at the bulbs included and they had the temp. printed on the side, D'oh. Anyway this is a result. This is straight out of the camera, just a little spot healing on the sensor dust.

Nice detail Trev, IMHO a little more contrast would probably improve the shot but that's only my opinion.

Yes that's right. Been meaning to buy it for a while. It does what it does, not a great product but better than nothing at all. Been thinking of perhaps some LED bulbs instead of the fluro daylights.

Thanks Trev. I've been thinking of something like that for a while. I'll check Officeworks out. I want pix of the lenses I want to sell.

No, there's something wrong here. Send me that lens and I'll try to work out how to get the exposure right.

Regards

hmm, I picked this product up in Officeworks to look at the other day, but put it down again. I was tempted, but I have a lightbox that I can use with externnal flash,

What are your overall impressions?

Too early to say. It looks the goods, but long exposures are essential as the light is not overly bright. This is not a major problem as nothing is moving if it dead or inert. I am going to give it a go with off camera flash sometime to see how that goes. Also I will look at some of the new LED bulbs as the bulbs are just bayonet mounts. You get what you pay for.

You can also use a student flouro lamp over the top for the added light which is what I do sometimes. Would also pay to go to Textile Traders to get some whit and some black cloth for backdrops. A metre and a half of each only cost me $7.00.

Thanks Em. I'll be getting a few enhancements in time as I learn a new part of the art.
