I was walking down by our campground gardens and caught this quick snap as they walked past.

With a bit of work it would be acceptable, but right now it's a candidate for You Are Not a Photographer | Exposing fauxtographers since 2011

Not at all. The selective color screams I did this in 2 minutes. Either go full B&W conversion or take the time to do the selective color right.

I like it Bob.... it's not your standard "everyone look at the camera and smile " image.

thank you Norm, I could certainly have done a better job on processing but I think the image itself is pretty good.

yup, it was a good candid moment. but the sloppy application of selective desat kinda dragged it down a bit.

What a great catch, brother Bob. Normally, I'm not too keen on selective color treatments, but this one sure works.

i'd disagree given the post processing. if you want to do a selective desaturation, i'd make sure you dont just fling your mouse at random parts of the image. you've left colour right up to the tail lights of the car which is distracting and confusing. as well as that there is a colour halo around the figures. why is one arm of the flower girl in B&W? just small things like this can turn an average image into a good one. if you want to go down the route of selective desaturation (which really, had it's day more than a decade ago), at least get it a bit more accurate
It's crap like this that drives people away from forums. Bob was posting a photo to share in the share forum NOT the Critique forum. So if you have nothing nice to saw then saw nothing at all.
By the way Bob I like the candid capture and the selective desaturation.............Bas
