Yes it is. The DA L 55-300 is a gem of a lens for the price.

Very good.
I bought the K-x 2.5 years ago, with kitlens 18-55 and 50-200, but the 50-200 is not that sharp. So, before knowing about this forum (or realy knowing alot about photography) I bought the sigma 70-300 apo dg, not that sharp at 300mm either...

But I guess your technique is better than mine too...
