San Diego has a Maritime Museum, consisting of a handful of ships.

The Berkeley is the biggest one, with the main museum.

There was a "pirate days" event going on, but it was rather lackluster...

Pirate kid.

HMS Surprise was used in some movies, including Master and Commander.

The Star of India also has a couple decks of exhibits.

The Star of India was once called the Euterpe.

Stead Ellis and his family traveled across the ocean in a small cabin.

More exhibits on the Star of India.

A Russian B-39 submarine.

Looks yummy...

I think this cabin was dressed up for Master and Commander.

The girl is reading commands for the re-enactor to load and fire his flintlock.

Medea history.

USS Dolphin submarine history.

Canning process.

The Berkeley engine.

More exhibits.

The 2-mast schooner is available for a cruise. I took one :-)

Re-enactors.

USS Dolphin.

Sword-fighting lessons.

Some size restrictions for the B-39 sub tour.

The Mary Ann on the dock.

The dock behind the Berkeley.

B-39 sub, Star of India, and seafood restaurant.

The America also has a cruise.

HMS Surprise and Star of India.

Gun port.

Kyle, thanks for the tour, enjoyed it very much. The last time I was at the foot of Broadway, The Star of India was about the only attraction. TFS Cliff

Thanks for taking us on this little "voyage" - I'd love to visit this museum.

I guess they've fleshed it out a bit since then :-)

There is also the USS Midway aircraft carrier museum a mile or so down the road.
