I took a few pic's tonight, and like the way that these 2 turned out

The first one seems a bit too dark, but the second one is very nice. It looks like you were just starting to get some star-trails.

the first one was pretty close to the actual color, however for the second one I had the aperture wide open, with a 30 second shutter. It's a lot brighter than what I was really looking at.
So looks can be deceiving.
The only editing that I did was convert them from RAW to JPG.

I'm just experimenting a little with night photography before the 2 trips I'm planning on taking in the next 3 weeks.
I'll be in pretty dark remote locations, so I'll hopefully get some nice night sky pictures.
