Glebe Park in the rain
Lens: DA 16-45 f4 Camera: K-5iis Photo Location: Canberra, Australia ISO: 200
Posted By: RobG, 06-01-2013, 07:54 AM

On Thursday I noticed that the autumn leaves in Glebe Park looked good, so I took a large umbrella and braved the rain to capture a bit of Autumn in Canberra. I hope the DA 16-45 survives the experience; although the K5iis is weather sealed, the lens is not!

The two shots go together nicely. I like the colours in the second one. But I would be less worried about the weather sealing than slipping on those wet leaves while trying to juggle umbrella and camera!

Ah, using the old fashioned WR technique.

Great images.

Thank you! I didn't slip at all - pays to have good boots. One photo had to be deleted because the brolly got in the way, but it helped to minimise the rain on the lens. A tripod would have been handy for a couple of closeups, but at least I got some autumn leaf photos before the wind on Sunday blew them all away!

Thanks! Hopefully one day all Pentax lenses will be weather sealed! I saw someone else with a DSLR on a tripod, but I didn't see what brand it was.
