Lens: SMC Pentax-DA 1:3.5-5.6 18-55mm AL WR Camera: K-7 Photo Location: Coliban River - Metcalfe ISO: 100 Shutter Speed: 1s Aperture: F45
Posted By: Bruce Clark, 06-02-2013, 08:46 PM

A few inches of rain and the Coliban River near Metcalfe in central Victoria began flowing. This is an a area called "The Cascades" where the river flows over a series of granite boulders. Heavily overcast day with some light drizzle so the WR lens was put to good use. The initial image was very dull and flat so with a generous crop, some saturation, a warming filter and some sharpening it started to show some promise. I always fear I go to far with these edits.

If you enjoyed creating this image, then have no fear.
To my eyes, it's striking and pleasing.

I like it too. The water seems to be wrapping its arms around the branch.

Bruce, this is so beautiful! Water, this kind of flowing water and its inhabitants, has become my favourite motif. Wonderful job processing too.

Thanks again Bob and Tess, I truly value your encouraging comments. There is a whole new field of photography with no boundaries to explore out there.
