Hummingbird nest update

It's a good news, bad news...Good News kinda situation

Original thread...
https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/post-your-photos/224986-nature-hummingbird-nest.html

The good news...the female hummingbird is still here daily at my feeders and flowers.

The bad news...After all of the recent storms we've had, she abandoned her original nest in the locust tree outside my bedroom window. The wind really whipped the branches around and leaves from the branch above the nest always seemed to fall onto and cover the nest when it rained.

The Good News... She relocated to the ash tree in my front yard! The vantage point won't be as opportunistic as the original nest as she's now about 12 feet off the ground and I will only be able to shoot from below the nest. However, I think I'll still be able to photograph some good activity once the nestlings make an appearance.

Here's a shot of the mother-to-be sitting on the new nest this evening.

It would have been nicer to see into the nest but you will still be able to watch the progress. Nice shot.

I find it amazing that not only did you find her first nest, but you found her second one!

Hopefully this one will be better for her - thanks for updating and looking forward to more as time goes on.

Thanks for updating this... it's kind of like a soap opera.... I wonder what the spider think of having all that webbing snatched...
