Lens: Pentax DA* 50-135 Camera: Pentax K5 Photo Location: Eindhoven/Helmond - The Netherlands

I checked out and noticed the last series about rallycross was in 2011 so time to get a new serie for those we like to see these powerfull cars.
Last weekend the ELE Rally took place in my neighbourhood and I attended a couple of special stages. Hope you like them.
First the big guns

1 - Citroen C4 WRC

2 - Ford Foucs RS WRC 09

3 - Mistubishi Lancer WRC 05

4 - Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X

5 - Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX

6 - Ford Fiesta R2 with some damage

7 - Nissan 350 Z

A couple of oldies, well known in Europe
8 - Opel Manta 400

9 - Opel Cadet C Rally

10 - Ford Escort RS2000

11 - Peugeot 205 GTI

Also took some shots at the special stage during the evening

12 - Mitsubishi Lancer Evolutio X showing the red glowing disc brakes

13 - Ford Escort MK I

14 - a strange flagship was the Volvo 240 DL

15 - DAF 66 Rally, a local favorite since the factory is in Eindhoven

Some great cars in there, and nicely shot (one for those who reckon the K-5, not to mention the 50-135, is too slow for action-following). The front lift on the Opel is amazing – was it speed or acceleration?

Excellent panning there to keep the car in focus and background blurred! Any tips to share?

If you mean the lift of Opel Manta 400, that is caused by sheer accelaration. It's an old school car design and uses back wheel drive.
The K5 is more than capable for action shooting en the 50-135 requires an extra bit of attention and some luck. I also tried the 16-50, but that one is too slow for fast action sports.

Thnx for the compliment. With respect to tips, I have done a lot of sports shooting so I have quit a bit of experience. When you want to get these kind of shots it comes down to timing at that skill requires a lot of practice.

I am always a little apprehensive when all I see between speeding cars and spectators is some caution tape - I don't care what direction they are traveling...

Lots of good images there, great to see a Ford Escort in there amongst them.
