Bluebirds on Campus
Lens: Bigma Camera: K5IIs
Posted By: GvilleRick, 06-07-2013, 07:35 AM

I teach at a high school and one of the science teachers set up several bluebird houses on campus. One is in a reading garden area outside our building. I watched one day as bluebirds flew in and out of the house and I got a couple of shots using my K20D that I keep at school but didn't get any good shots. I brought my K5IIs and Bigma the next day and got several shots as they flew in and out to get bugs to feed the hatchlings.

Lovely shots of a beautiful bird. The first image has gorgeous bokeh.

Your thread was the one that made me think of these shots. Loved the blue sky in the background of yours. Here was a shot I got of the male flying out. I used my K20D with a Quantaray 70-300 for it.

I really like that first one. Incredible color and nice soft fuzzy background. That Bigma never fails to impress. It's on my wish list!

I love it for birding. Here's one more similar to the first with a big juicy bug.
