Am I the only one that finds me poetic with my choice of category?
Anyway, I went to a training event a couple of days ago where soldiers were brushing up on basic soldier skills. I didn't have a part in the training - I was just observing - so I figured I should probably bring my cameras with me.

2) A soldier stands guard at the corner of a building during a raid into a village under CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear) conditions.

3) Same soldier peers around the corner of the building.

4) After being given grid coordinates to the objective of his mission, a soldier plots and calculates the best route to reach that objective.

5) A squad leader receives his mission brief at another lane from the lane O/C (Observer/Controller).

6) A soldier finds his bearings and determines the
azimuth his squad should move out on through the woods.

7) A soldier in the prone looks through the sights of his weapon. I personally loved the way the light fell on his face in this one, and it was what caught my eye at the opportunity of a picture in the first place. I didn't realize how fleeting it would be until after I took it - 30 seconds later the lighting as it was disappeared. Also, his eye is not out of focus - from sweating so much the inside of his ballistic eyewear had fogged up!

8) After the completion of a mission, an AAR (After Action Review) was conducted to review sustains and improves of the operation. Polish soldiers came to witness and participate -- integrated in American squads -- in our training as well. This shot was incredibly difficult because I had the camera raised to the ceiling of the room and had to take it multiple times (ok close to 20) to get the right composition - the 8-16 has to be done perfectly or the distortions and composition take a very significant hit, especially indoors!

9) A soldier in the prone is concealed under a tree and by the tall grass. I took this shot about 15 times to get the DOF correct so the grass would show correctly (this was at f/5 not f/1.4-2 like I originally thought would be best). Also, had to move some grass to open up a pathway to his face.
