The Mountain History Museum is located near the NW side of Lake Arrowhead. It had only opened for its short season a week or so earlier.
The Mormons passed by in the 1850's and later. Some of them stopped, built a really wide road a few miles away up Waterman Canyon, and started a lumber trade with 6 sawmills. This is the only remnant of the vandalized old marker (there is a new one).

No doubt the map and famous residents list makes some of them angry. I have photographed the grave markers of about 6 of this group :-)

The lake is only about 1 mile wide and 2 miles long, with about 14 miles of shoreline - nearly all boat docks now.
