Before & after!

Thought this was quite amusing, this was a few minutes ago in the back garden, on my left hand. Check out the expanded abdomen!

Love the shots and it's something I could never take as it would have been squished as soon as it landed.

West Nile Virus is an increasing problem here and mossies are not well liked.

In England the mosquitoes don't tend to carry bad stuff, I can well understand how they're not popular in all parts of the world. The silly girl landed on my left hand whilst I was trying to hold back a fern to take a photo of some beetle with my right, so I let her sit there and do her thing. Then just blew her off when she was done. I live near a stream and we have billions of these things flying about in the forest just across from the garden!

These are incredible shots. Can't believe you managed them one handed too. I am with the general consensus and would have killed the little bugger but it was kind of you to let it live and go one to reproduce and have a million or more young ones.

Intriguing photos. If I had done this the after shot would have been a bloody mess.
