Buckeye on the Bay
Posted By: Sailor, 03-15-2008, 08:16 AM

My daughter, a grad student at Ohio State, is escaping the northern winter this weekend and visiting home in SE Texas. Here's a shot of her at the wheel of our boat on Galveston Bay yesterday - we hit a high of 88F - pretty toasty for this time of year, even here. Hardly an artistic masterpiece, but I wanted to record this very enjoyable family afternoon.

Great shot Jer! We are almost 50 (10C) here in NYC, but sailing will come soon...if you consider 3 months soon! And I can see where your daughter gets her good looks from...her mother!

Great shot of a happy moment Jer. 88F is a long way off for us. Probably have to do the 800 miles to the South of France in the summer to get that much warmth.

Thanks, guys, for the nice comments, and - yeah, Grant - I am indeed proud of her. Robin was (almost literally) born on a sailboat in Michigan and became a Texan at age 12 when we moved south. She went to middle and high school here in Lake Jackson, and then did a double major (psych and math) at Texas Lutheran University (a very small liberal arts college east of San Antonio). Now, she's into her third year in the neuroscience Ph.D. program at Ohio State.

I try to resist posting too many family snapshots, but sometimes I can't help myself.

Beauty and brain !

What did you feed her ??

Family snapshots were what started me on photography ( P&S film ) .

You should be proud of her and the photo .
