Some images from this area. Just random shots taken from various locations that will remind me how much I enjoyed it here. We will be leaving Sunday but will definitely come back.

Hope you enjoy the area as much as we did.

Just beautiful Susan, I am assuming as green as it is there, lots of rain. I bet you enjoyed your stay and thanks for sharing the area with your different threads.

Oh these are lovely Susan! Gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous photos and landscapes! Really enjoyed your trip. You are such a wonderful photographer.

I notice you have the Sigma 18 - 250. I just got mine and have had it out for a test drive or two. Do you have a polarizer or UV filter on it for these landscapes? I have ordered a polarizer as I don't get the same depth of detail and richness you did on these. Could just be I haven't figured out its "personality" yet.

Thanks a lot Tess. I almost always use a polarizer. Don't quite get the reason for a UV filter so I never use one. I also have started shooting everything in RAW (can't believe I am a convert but it really does seem to be making a difference.) The lens is not as sharp on either end as I would like and is not going to be a substitute for the 300mm but sure is a lot lighter to haul around. I also love the way the lens hood fits so securely in place but hate that there is no hole to use the polarizer. Remember Ray looses lens hoods frequently. This trip he drove off with his camera sitting on top of the cover on the truck bed. Thank heavens there were enough people around to holler at him. i digress. I think you will love the lens Tess and can't wait to see what you do with it.

Great images, the second should be called "Blue Ridge Mountains".

Why have I got this funny feeling that your going to reply saying... that's where you were.

Beautiful new green scenery. And it is very very similar to Japan's.

Your being kind, they're one and the same right.

It was just the colours of those distant hills, were so right for the title "Blue ridge Mountains", they're aptly named then.

Keep trying to figure out a way to tone down that blue but so far can't come up with a way that doesn't look weird.
