First...an update on the nest

I do miss the view that I had with the original nest just outside my bedroom window, and regret the missed opportunity to photograph those little gourmet jelly bean sized eggs...BUT...

There has been some new activity in the 2nd nest

June 12th...sitting on the nest is either very exhausting...or incredibly monotonous and boring...

June 21st - I spotted one small, pointy thing protruding from the nest...

Minutes later....TWO small, pointy things

Then...feeding time

June 25th...pin feathers on the youngsters

While watching for some "feeding at blooms" photo opportunities, I witnessed the following behavior that I have never seen before. This is an adult female, most likely the mother with the nest, that I thought was hovering because she had spotted some sort of predator. Instead, she was actually just scratching an itch...while in flight.

The red bloom in the background is 'Jacob Cline' Monarda...the most popular bloom in my yard in the spring and early summer.

Thanks for looking!

Cool, thanks for the updates.
We have lots of hummingbirds in our area but I have yet to spot a nest.
I'm wondering if I am looking for something too big?
What do you estimate the nest measures in width?
