Shots taken from a recent Chester Midsummer Parade, a traditional celebration of the solstice dating back to 1498. Parades were held in the years where the Mystery Plays were not performed, and involved a whole family of giants, dragons, camels and numerous other fantastical beasties. There is a counter-part Midwinter Parade as well, though they've stepped it up recently to include the green men and battles with the dragon.
