Nicely framed, great colours, and good use of long exposure. Amazing that you got that out of the kit lens

Its seems the kit lens is capable of surprises every so often. It does have a tendency for CA though.

Oh, come on, now. A good photographer can make any lens look amazing. f/11 can't hurt, either.

I always love these long exposures of rolling seas. The effect is surreal, like the rocks are rising up out of a mist.. I've never had the opportunity to do this myself. Super job!

Get to the seaside, find an interesting rock, wait till the sun goes down, then click click - cheaper than ND filters

That's always been the problem for me. I've lived in the southeast U.S. my whole life, and even if I drove three hours to get there, I don't think the effect would be so profound in a coastal marsh.

I think the closest opportunity now would be San Diego, five hours away.

I forget. Being in the UK you can only get about 70 miles from the sea. I'm only 70 metres away

I saw that on the map. You're a lucky guy.

I shouldn't complain, though. I've got views, just not the same kind. Plus, I get to wear t-shirts in the winter.

I can wear T-shirts in the winter so long as it's under a few other layers!

The water movement sure makes this shot a great one.
