VCU's Coach Shaka Smart in the midst of the Atlantic 10 Conference Tournament game against Massachusetts, shouting to his players during the very close and physical game. This isn't my best photo like this, but I particularly like this one anyway for the emotion (and because it sort of looks like he's saying "I want cake!"...just kidding). Despite everything going on around him (the crowd behind him, the players in front of him, and his assistant coaches flailing about on his right - photo left), his focus is on making sure his players play their game and wreak HAVOC.
I used a
Pentax K-5 IIs to shoot this photo, with a
Tamron 70-200mm f/2.8 Di LD (IF) Macro lens (1/800" at ISO 2000 and f/2.8, despite what the description says). The Tamron was a rental, but I own the K-5 IIs; I had the K-5 IIs and my original K-5 with me on the baseline at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. I probably could've gone to Adorama after the game was over...
