I am not sure if this is what I am supposed to do but I am responding to an email to post a photo here, so here it is. A little over a year ago bought a new Pentax K5 (Pentax K5 K-5 Digital SLR Camera Body, Black 14748). The first time I used it was on a trip to Ancaster, Ontario, June 2012, so I would like to post two photos that I took there. My object is mainly documentation, so my photos are just pictures of things, rather than photo art.

The photos are of a juvenile Red-winged Blackbird (Agelaius phoeniceus) apparently not long out of the nest amongst reeds in a small swampy hollow beside the Shaver Family Cemetery in Ancaster, Ontario. Her father (I assume—he was the only adult male in sight or hearing range) was making a racket nearby, the warnings probably aimed at me.

Pentax Forum was sponsoring a photo submittal contest to win a Ricoh GR camera. The drawing was to be held on July 9. Who won the camera? Would appreciated having some sort of general announcement. Thank you!

The winner is posted in the section that contains the contest information. It wasn't me. So sad.

Sublime, EM. Crisp and sharp, and the photo seems to jump out from my computer screen.
