DA* 300 virgin shot
Lens: DA* 300 Camera: K5
Posted By: Mallee Boy, 07-02-2013, 12:32 AM

It all seems simple enough. Unpack new lens, fit it to camera and search around for a subject. Phone rings, and rings again and the day all but dis-appears....so in fading light I choose Dusty, my buddy, to be honoured with being the first subject captured by the DA* 300.

Dusty, however, is one very independent feline. As I sit on the grass to shoot him on his favourite rock he decides that he will come and sit with me...I put camera down....Dusty returns to rock.....I pick camera up...Dusty comes and sits alongside me...and on it goes. Finally Dusty decides he is tiring of this game and deems me worthy of a quick pose.
(All shot at 1600iso)

Well...come on..get on with it. !!

OK, I have had enough of this nonsense...I do not like that thing pointing at me....point it at something else.please....

You nailed the gnome!
Seriously, enjoy the lens; it is a wonderful piece of glass.

He wasn't quite so twitchy. I am quite sure I will get along just fine with the 300....the first real test is a gymkhana this weekend.

Didnt you think that Dusty may have wanted a go at taking a picture? After all, he has spent more time in HIS yard than you have.

You are so going to love that lens. One of my favorites. I can see why the cat is named Dusty; it suits him perfectly.
