Was just in the garden and hadn't seen one of these in the UK before. Can anyone identify this for me?

Looks like a mutant cross between a honeybee and a cockroach.

Hi

It is a European "Mai Beetle" In the English speaking world they are known as June Beetle, although there they are/can be a bit different.
