Wow! I have not used that before, so will have to try it out. The only older lens I have is a SMC A 70-210 macro but that doesnt match up. So it had to be my 50-200.
For A- and earlier lenses, which don't report focal length to the camera, what gets written in the EXIF is the focal length you input for the shake reduction function...

EXIF info for pre-A lenses

Wouldn't it be nice if the body had a pick list of all the old Pentax lenses to enter for EXIF and/or shake reduction?

Only the approx. focal length for zooms for shake reduction.

Is Pentax reading this?

Believe me, I can't wait to get the lens! I know I will be chacking that tracking # everyday, lol

It is terrible here, it's raining outside and it is too dark to go out and shoot

When you mount such a lens on your K10D, the camera should prompt you (on its LCD screen) for the lens' focal length when you turn it on. Note that the prompt will go away and retain its previous value if you press the shutter button.
