Burn Up That 1/4 Mile
Lens: Sigma 18-250mm Camera: K5 Photo Location: Denver Colorado
Posted By: Bob Harris, 07-09-2013, 06:29 PM

Jet dragsters race the 1/4 mile near the mile high city of Denver. This is the first time I have used this lens, makes for a great walk around, not too large or heavy and focuses quickly.

Holy smokes is right....6 second 1/4's. What a thrill that had to be for a muscle car guy like yourself.

If you flip them upright, do they reach orbit?

They are actually slower than they used to be. NHRA won't allow them to go over 300 due to safety reasons I think I read. Still way too fast for me

Years back they had Rocket Cars run at the drags, now those were fast.

I think if you would put wings on them they would fly, not sure about upright

Can't go over 300MPH?...Ah right, I didn't know that.
Obviously they're not as quick as their "conventional" counterparts, but they're VERY spectacular.....but, ya wouldn't catch me driving one!!
Cheers, Pickles.

I've enjoyed it so far and I thought the price wasn't too bad for the quality a person gets.

Some top high speed shots, nearly as fast as the cars.
