Hi all, I was in the Canadian Rockies between Banff and Jasper for a trip at the end of June. Still going through all the photos, but these are a few of my favorites so far. Any and all critiques or comments welcome!

yes, there's an unfortunate water spot on this picture. If anyone has tips for editing that out, I would appreciate!

They look great but the images are too small to see well on my monitor.

You should be able to click them for the larger version? I'll see if I can update the post with the larger ones by default

[edit] it makes the post really hard to read with the larger pictures - let me know if there's a problem with the linking!

[edit 2] okay changed for larger version

OK yes, I can see the pictures when I click on them. Excellent. Especially the second one, the waterfall shot.

Thanks! Yeah, the Athabasca Falls were really impressive. I actually pulled out the P&S camera to take a brief video, just to get a sense of the scale and the noise.

The careful use of the healing brush set to content aware in PS, will give IMHO acceptable results.

I use the layer brush and decrease exposure a bit, highligths also. Play with contrast also. See what happens.

Thanks, I'm using photoshop CS4 which doesn't have content aware I guess. Tried playing with the healing brush, and with some adjustment layers, but couldn't get a result that I was happy about. Ah well...guess I just have to go back!

Third and fifth photos for me.
You've got some great views in Canada.

Great work. Love how the river winds itself leading the eye to the mountains in the background and the framing on waterfall. Lovely area and well captured.

2nd to last pic, what falls is that?

I have to add that one to my itinerary.

and honestly, the waterspot probably dooms that pic unless you are willing to spend the better part of an hour with the Clone Tool and incrementally work outside-in, cloning off the perimeter and carefully picking similar spots from surrounding mountains

there's too much shade and texture variance for healing tool, most of time you'll just get a blob. that's a clone tool problem
