Trying water drops
Posted By: BeerCan, 03-19-2008, 01:09 PM

Got a new flash today and to try it in wireless mode I thought I would try and shoot some water drops. It was a little frustrating but after awhile I started to get the hang of it. I was using different pieces of colored construction paper over the flash on some shots to see what effect it would have. It made some of the shots have some weird colors, but hey thats what experimentation is about

Very well done. I particularly like the way you captured the single drop just before it hits the apple in the 1st. Very crisp and clear shots.

What lens and settings?

Brilliant! We should make a thread for people to try this and see what we all come up with.

Great series!

I am using the DFA 100mm. f/4.5 shutter was 1/125 iso 400
here is another crop of the first shot (I guess it could use some NN)

Thanks for the overwhelming positive response Here are 2 more I like,I only took about 60 shots as I was trying to get my timing down.

BeerCan (odd calling people by their aliases :-) ) GREAT shots!

Chris, I like your idea about a new thread so others can post their experiments. Long weekend with crappy weather coming up :-)
