Eastern Eyed Click Beetle
Lens: D FA 100mm WR Camera: K5 Photo Location: my back yard ISO: 3200 Shutter Speed: 1/750s Aperture: F13.5

I was outside, just started up the BBQ pit, and in the corner of my eye something fell out of the tree. It landed next to the pit on the ground. I thought it was an acorn, a leaf, or something. When I looked down, this thing was there.

I had my camera nearby and quickly laid down on the ground next to it to get the picture. It was easily 3.5 to 4 inches long. I shot a couple of pictures, then it lifted 4 wings (yes, 4) and flew off into the sunset.

Coolest thing I have seen in a long time.

Never seen one of those, cool shot. You got all kinds of stuff in Texas others don't have.

I've not seen one either and I've been here for 18 years. Great catch.
