South Mountain Tele Shots
Posted By: Adam, 01-13-2007, 09:25 PM

I went on a small photo shoot to South Mountain Park today, wanting to try out my new K 500mm lens.

It was a bit cold up there, but I got things done:

SMC Pentax 500mm F4.5

SMC Pentax-A* 200mm F2.8 ED

SMC Pentax-FA* 24mm F2 AL [IF]

C&C is welcome. Check out the rest of the photos here: Motec Photo Gallery

What a shot! Very nice demo of what the 500mm can do. Thanks!

In the 200mm shot - what arena is that?

Hey mo. I actually like Fa* 24 f2 shot the best! 500mm does show the reach. I guess there must be quite a thick layer of dense smog between your camera and the far end of the city.

That Fa*24 has the colour I am really after. Two auctions were on ebay at present. Mo, you are tickling me to bid for one of them!

That's Chase Field, originally known as Bank One Ball Park.

I'm really enjoying the 200mm- I don't think tele shots can get any better!

I love the colors in that shot, too. It's the beauty of the lens- almost no PP.

I'd grab it while it's out there, if I were you. The FA*'s are getting harder and harder to come by...

Smog and pollution is a huge issue- it even makes moon shots worse in some areas.

Great shots Adam, Looks like that big lens is a keeper. A great series of focal lengths too.

That *200 works for you! The 500mm shots in your gallery of the open country look good too. I wonder if any filters will work for shooting through a city, like a skylight or UV???
