Crabspider studie
Lens: Pentax-FA 100mm F2.8 Macro Camera: Pentax K-5 Photo Location: Lagaro, Sweden ISO: 200 Shutter Speed: 1/180s Aperture: F11

I found this tiny crabspider and tried to catch him with my flash loose in my left hand.
Interesting to test different angles for the light and I did get several promising shots. These are the two I finished processing using LR and PS. (Edit: I removed a third shot I didnt really get along with)

Very cool! Excellent detail and colors.
I haven't seen a crab spider around her in years, I wonder if I am looking in the wrong places.
Did you use a wireless trigger or the built-in wireless?

Seems to be quite a few crabspiders here now.

I didnt use eireless at all. Used a cord since most of the times I use older lenses that dont have A. Mostly one of my modified Canon FDs.
I just held the flash with a homemade diffuser thing and it worked better then I would have tought. Actually much easier then having the flash in the hotshoe päor similar. Funny it took me 3 years to realise that !!

Great series with lots of detail. Those eyes in the first shot are really something else and the pose in the second one is really good.
