... It's not my faulkt!
Lens: Sigma APO 5.6/400 Camera: K5
Posted By: volley, 07-20-2013, 07:53 AM

You should know, I did not want to buy another lens AT ALL!
It's not my fault, but when Norm Head started to post all these great shots taken with his SMC A 5.6/400 I had to buy myself a 400 mm lens as well...
I found this manual focus Sigma APO 5.6/400 at a really good price and could take it out for the first time for a few shots taken at a local game park.

With this one I am quite pleased, especially considering I had to focus manually:

Superb photos, especially the first one.
I think most of us know how hard birds-in-flight photos can be at the best of times.

I tip my hat to you, Sir.

Absolutely gorgeous pictures. Very well done with the manual focus on the BIF!

Great capture with a manual focus lens of that focal length. It has been impossible (so far) for me.

All three are exceptional, Norbert - good lens and - especially - a talented photographer.

Thanks Bob, maybe I should buy me a new keyboard with less typos build in?
To pay for the new toys (the roadster is so much fun!) I am again working in China right now. Posting from Shanghai actually.

Excellent. Clarity is very good. I especially like the first one of the Owl in flight. The bokeh and green background really adds to this photo.

I would say a worthwhile lens purchase.

Thank you very much! The park management will probably use it for a publication - they plan to hold a photography-workshop
