Nature's wounded hunter--3 winged dragonfly.
Lens: Various Camera: K5 Photo Location: Saugus Ma.

I've never seen this before with a dragonfly. He stuck around on the small wooded stake for many shots with different lens and then flew away 10ft up on the outside bricks of the fireplace. The first shot is with the 18-250 Pentax from about 3ft. distance. That lens continues to amaze me.--charliezap

Very cool Charlie - that missing wing almost looks surgically removed , I wonder if they only ever had 3 ?

I posted it on Ma. Audubon.Let's see what they say. It is interesting to say the least.I took some normal dragonfly pics later this day from 6ft away with the Bigma and they blew my mind.I'll probably put them on my FaceBook page in a short while.--charliezap

Nice shots, wonder how that affected his flying abilities.

That is a great lens, I bet some bird tore the wing off.

Thanks for posting these Charlie! So the obvious question: is this poor little guy just flying in circles? Counter-clockwise, I assume:-)??
