Tonto National Forest

Yet another small photo shoot!

After seeing today's shots, I've discovered that the FA 35mm is just about as sharp as the 24mm. It also delivers the same great color reproduction.

Most of these shots have not been post-processed

SMC Pentax-FA 35mm F2 AL

SMC Pentax-A* 200mm F2.8 ED

SMC Pentax-A 50mm F2.8 Macro

See the rest here.

Beautiful shots Adam. This area is such a wonderful photo op, and you do such a great justice to it.

Good shooting.
Cheers: David

Hi Mo. I was kind of expecting rainforest shot ... This forest is definitely interesting. Similar kind of scenery shots taken by RedHawk from some time ago.

Each of your lens does have character that Fa 35/2 gives off this smooth clean details with less contrast while your A*200 gives strong contrast and punchy colour.

You are definitely having a buying spree

Not only are the colorful and sharp, they are down right prickly. I really like the second shot with the perspective enhanced by the background layers of hills.

I don't know why they called cacti and mountains a forest, but that's what it is

I'm indeed very satisfied with my 3 latests primes. If fact, they deliver such good photos that I've stowed my 28-105mm for now, despite the power zoom feature that I enjoy.

I'm also cosidering putting away the 80-320mm (which is normally my tele lens on long trips) because I've now completed my collection with 100, 200, 300, 400, and 500mm primes. I'm still looking at an M 100 2.8, though, since I don't want to use the macro as a tele- the LBA is pretty bad.

Thanks for all the great comments, guys!

It's a cactus (cacti?) forest, I believe. I like shot number 3 - me being a big twisty road fan. I would be pulled over in a heartbeat doing some crazy speed on that road.

The detail in shot #4 - this is nice! The 50 2.8, that's a macro lens, right?

Most of the "Forest" consists of mountains, though- that's the funny part. Only the first few miles are filled with cacti.

The road was actually fairly far away: Motec Photo Gallery. The 200mm and the ED brought it closer

Yes, the A 50mm F2.8 is a 1:2 macro lens. It takes great photos!

It's in AZ, starting just a big north of Fountain Hills.
I'm not sure what road that is...

Again, thanks for the great comments! I'm really enjoying the 200mm
