July's collection
Lens: Pentax 60 - 250, Tamron 90 macro, Pentax 1.7x TC Camera: K-5 Photo Location: South Algonquin, Ontario

July has come and gone and my photo album for the month is sparse. These are the images that stand out for me.

I think the way we see at any given time is a window into how we are feeling.

Thanks for having a look.

From our recent canoe trip:

Tiny Bug

Sunset: The reflections in the water were prettier than the actual sunset.

Feather: I spent a huge amount of time trying capture a still image of this feather, but the wind blown photo won the day.

Pine Cone

From the beginning of July:

Dew soaked grass: Took two shots and cannot decide if I like the close up more.

Moth: slept all day under the porch forcing me to finally get my camera

Hosta: This was a long exposure late evening and the fly came and went during the shot.

Rabbit: Lucky shot. Took this full reach hand held with the Pentax 60 - 250.

Awesome Pink

Clouds - trying out a new polarizer filter

Great! You take a picture of an ordinary pine cone and have the skill to make it beautiful and interesting. Love your series. Btw, I prefer the zoomed out grass pic to the closeup, it gives a bit more content than "just green blur".

All stunning images in this series. It has been a long time since I crawled through the grass with an out of focus lens. Natures jewel box.

Hi Jim, thanks for the comments. The colour in the second is caused by the gold glow of the sun in a cloudless sky as it sat right on the horizon. The first image was taken at the same time.

Thank you so much Johan... I wondered if people would find that shot boring, so glad to read your comments.

Thanks Bruce... I often forget to have fun off AF, then I read a little Freeman Patterson and I am out there again doing crazy techniques with my camera.

Beautiful work, Tess! I adore the colors in the reflection shot in particular. It works beautifully as a natural abstract.

Really like the first of the the grass shots, the highlights just look like wee jewels in the grass.
