Hail Splat
Lens: 18-250mm Camera: K5 Photo Location: Black Forest, Colorado
Posted By: Bob Harris, 08-15-2013, 09:07 PM

I went over to watch my grandson Robb's football practice yesterday and a hail storm with high winds came in and stopped practice for awhile. What is a Grandpa to do that is stuck in a car with a camera, try to take pictures of hail hitting the windshield of course. It took a bit of practice with the timing, windshield wiper and camera shutter speed but here is the best example after some creative editing. In typical Colorado weather, the storm passed over in about 15 minutes and the boys were able to start practice again.

Well done Bob - we had some hail in South Dakota as well. It woke us up actually and there was quite a bit of evidence on the ground.

Now that is one cool (ho, ho) idea. I love this sort of thing - great job, brother Bob.
