Indoor shots can be tricky to get a grip on sometimes. Rewarding, but tricky.
The one thing that stands-out in most of these is the motion blur. Which can usually works out when you set your shutter at/or about 1/160'ish and higher. Which in turn, can result in some pretty high ISO images when all is said and done. However, when shot in RAW and post processed for NR, the K-5 will not disappoint.

Hope this helps.

Charlie, I agree 100%, the K5 changes the way we shoot. What used to be unthinkable is now commonplace. People can holler about the latest and greatest, or whine and long for a FF camera, but it's going to take some doing to beat the K5 in both performance and value.

I'm going to post in your thread.....if a Mod comes along and writes me a nasty letter, I'll send it to you for a reply...you know what to tell them!

My best high ISO with the K5....on a cloudy dark day...... and I rarely see these little Painted Buntings. I had the K20D and the K5 on my desk. I didn't even waste my time with the K20D, I knew better. Picked up the K5 and mounted the Bigma, set it on Tav and set the speed at 1/125, wide open at f6.7, and the Bigma @ 500mm.

The K5 chose ISO 12,800. Worked for me! Shot through my office window, or it might have been better......

Good to see you got to enjoy your grandkids. Mine just left today after a weeks visit here from Oregon. If you are like me Charlie, get a little rest now.......maybe you don't need it, but I do!

Best Regards!
Rupert

Thanks for the tips.I usually don't shoot high ISO's but it was fun puttering around and shooting from the hip so to speak.--charliezap

The first image reminds me of a caption I saw recently on the web somewhere, it read "I'm gonna stare at you until you feed me"
