Shot today with the K20D and Tamron 28-75 f2.8 - lit with a pair of Vivitar 283s, one into an umbrella and one snooted.

They are a bit hard to find these days. I got mine on Ebay a couple years ago. Extremely handy. They are actually better than the ones that are built into the 285 because they go down to 32nd power, instead of only 16th, and the dial is stop-less, instead of in click stops so they have a huge amount of control. I highly recommend them to all 283 users.

I didn't know what it was until you mentioned it. Quick Google to find out what it was and a check at B&H and they have them for $20. Quick check on Ebay shows one currently at $10 and another at $15. Since I was just about to pick up a new P&S for the in-laws from B&H anyway, I'll pay the extra without the hassle and combine the shipping.

Powerful image Dave - great capture. I am not much of a portrait shooter, but if I could produce results like that well then maybe....
