Moss Macro
Posted By: roentarre, 03-24-2008, 05:29 AM

It had been a terrible weekend for me to make my macro lens work on k20d.

Finally, I got some shots to work out in the end .... Sigh....

Now I need to figure out how to use this lens without flash! (I am missing my k10d already)

Sorry to hear about the K20D issues then again you have a K20D so I don't feel too bad - Great picture of the month love the pollen everywhere. I am also curious with Jay's question on a profile - thought that was one of the features of the K20D.

I just realised that I made an error in calling moth as moss. Maybe I was thinking about Tara Moss too much.
Is that possible (thinking too much about Tara Moss I mean)??? This may not be a true macro, but at least it's moss that won't up & fly away on you! (taken with the 18-55 kit lens handheld)

James,
Wow, that's some moth! Sorry to hear about the K20D bugs with some lenses. I'm sure you'll make the best of it though!

Do you mean a profile on how A* 200mm f4 macro perform on k20d?

I hope I could do that scientificly with objective approach to it all. Unfortunately, I rely on my gut feelings and trial + errors when it comes to my assessment on camera gear.

I will try to do a comprehensive subjective report on this lens after I start shooting DNG on k20d. But my experience tells me that this often requires a lot more time + labourous processing effort to present it nicely on the forum, for criticism of having it done unscientificly

Thanks for showing your moss shot. I am kind of embarassed as I have been doing this for 3 occasions, labelling my shot different from what I said. Thought derailment? self diagnosis of delirium perhaps hehe

The novelist and hot former model (Maybe you are just joking?)

she is surely not a moss though Men usually get hormonal storm when they first hear the name.

p.s. You keen on a Da 14 f2.8?

I would have preferred a different look using available light. pity that I had to resort myself to flash. I am against flash work on macro but I have betrayed myself. hehe

Both very nice, but the first one just looks so serene and inviting... Makes me want to jump right into the scene, lean back against the bank, and close my eyes and just listen to the water burbling thru those rocks... Especially looking out the office window att he solid grey overcast sky...
