Hot Enough

Great shot. I would have been afraid that I would BBQ the lens! Almost looks like the inside of a volcano.

too funny Susan, we couldn't fit one in the back of the Jeep, so had to go to the store for ribeyes.

Your right about getting too close, the lens is a bit short and had to be careful not to have BBQ macro lens on the menu.

EM, I always wait until the coals are bright red before putting the steaks on, that way it seals the juices in. I read where the coals can reach a thousand degrees, hot enough to ruin a lens if you get it too close.

some of the RV parks we stay in don't allow charcoal fires, so I have an electric bbq as a backup. A man has to be prepared for anything on the road.
