A Quick trip around China Part 2
Lens: Sigma 17-70 Camera: K200D
Posted By: IanS, 09-06-2013, 04:09 AM

We carried on with a cruise down the Li river.
This shot was trying to recreate the one on the 10 Yuan bill.

Then off to Chengdu to visit the Panda's having a morning feed.

A Two hour high speed train ride then 3 days cuising the Yangtze River through the 3 Gorges project.

A view of the 3 Gorges Dam.

Shanghai CBD from the Bund, our guide told us that 20 years ago the CBD area was rice paddies.

A tranquil paradise in the middle of Shanghai, Yu Gardens.

And finally Hong Kong, then sadly back to reality, 18 days disappeared in no time.

Great Photos, little smog

You got some great shots and had very good weather by the look of how clear most of them were. I was there last October and there was a lot of smog most days. On the Great Wall we got a nice clear day.

Looks like you enjoyed your trip. It is quite an eye-opener to visit for the first time and have your expectations totally changed by the reality of the country. I did not expect everything to be quite so modern. There are still areas that are unchanged but it was a photo opportunity at every turn.

Thanks for sharing your photos.

Thanks, after googling Gursky I see what you mean.

We felt we were very lucky with the weather as well Brian, only two smoggy days in China and a rainy morning Hong Kong.
Totally agree with your other comments.

Thanks for all the comments.
Ian
