I wonder what it thought about you...
"not food" and since it stayed there "not dangerous" is my best guess.
I've noticed that sometimes when they sit there they turn the head to the side...which makes them look a bit more human, or perhaps like a dog, though I suspect it only has to do with changing their field of view and perhaps judging the distance.
