A blast from the past
Posted By: Jebus, 03-26-2008, 06:26 AM

Hello again everyone,

As many others have done over the Easter break I traveled home to visit my parents. This seemed like the perfect opportunity to take some nice outdoor shots in the peace and quiet rather than the noisy area I usually live in. During the down time I managed to walk around trying to capture the feeling I get when I'm there.

Not really sure if i was successful in that mission but I'm very new to the world of photography, so any critique or comments are very very welcome.

I use a K10D and most of my shots were taken with the 50mm 1.4 lens I purchased days before the trip.

I think you had a successful day! I like the flower shot and wasp, very nice for a non macro lens. The dogs' tongue is great timing. Nice series.

Thanks for the kind words Daacon .

I did have my tamron 70 - 300 with macro capability of 1:2 out there as well, I'm just too tired to figure out which photo was taken with which lens at the moment. I will get all the image data and post it with the photos if people are interested.

Looks to me you were inspired. I love the second shot and the close up of the dogs tongue. There is always something special about going back home!

Thanks LaRee,

Definitely inspired, although that alone wasn't enough to get good photo's. I made 3 trips outside with my camera that day, and after the first trip I was really frustrated because there was all this beautiful scenery around, and I couldn't get good shots of any of it. The next 2 trips proved a little more successful, although I still feel they lack originality. I'm learning slowly haha.

Number six is my favourite, it tells a story and loosens my imagination...

wow, thanks everyone for the kind replies.

It's nice to see which images are more well received than others. The dog with it's tongue out almost never made it into this collection, but seems to be the popular one.
