Hey guys,

Critiques and Comments welcome!.

I was trying to emulate Thomas Babeau style of B&W, so this is a homage to him...whoever he is.

A truly amazing photograph!!! I usually find this sort of thing contrived and ridiculously dramatic, but this shot's got soul - just perfect.

I don't like the contrast. The texture of the shirt and her skin tone don't look appealing. There should be more separation between her hair/pants and the background. Watch the lighting on the placement of her elbow. That little notch looks very awkward against the background. Catchlights don't match and are two noticeably different shapes.

I love it. She is a devastating beauty. Her eyes, hair, and lips are just absolutely killer.

As far as constructive feedback is concerned:
-A little more separation between her hair and the background, particularly on her right side, would be nice
-Did you dodge the whites of her eyes? In a very, very nitpicky kind of way, I'd say her right eye is (very slightly) distractingly white. It looks like this may have been achieved through a bit too much dodging.

Again, I love the image. Please understand that I'm providing this feedback in an "in order to raise this image from the 97th percentile to the 98th percentile" type of way.

Oh.
When i saw the post went to the second page I didnt think it'd come back up...very niche style, I thought haha

@k-9 and @fuent : noted - especially the different catch lights ...because that one wasnt done on purpose, i wasnt quite sure how i did it. Maybe just the extreme angle of the light. The image had plenty of separation in the raw - but I really wanted to try and figure out what babeau was doing. Maybe I overdid it.

Thanks for all the comments and feedback everyone : both positive and negative helps me keep going with my work and do better

I like this, but there might be a small problem with timing. She's obviously about to remove her shirt, so I would have waited a few more seconds before taking the shot.

Regards
